Fully Covered Self-Expanding Metal Stent versus Multiple Plastic Stents to Treat Benign Biliary Strictures Secondary to Chronic Pancreatitis: A Multicenter Randomized Trial
Benign biliary strictures are complications of chronic pancreatitis. The study compared 12-month treatment with MPS and FCS EMS. At 24 months, MPS treatment was more effective and had fewer ERCPs than FCS EMS. No stent- or procedure-related deaths occurred.
