Maternal Depressive Symptoms Predict Girls’ but Not Boys’ Emotion Regulation: A Prospective Moment-to-Moment Observation Study

The study looked at 108 mother-child dyads from three to four years old. Higher levels of maternal depressive symptoms predicted faster transitions into sadness only for girls but not for boys. Girls of mothers with elevated depressive symptoms showed impairment in antecedent-focused emotion regulation of sadness.

Neuropathology of patients with COVID-19 in Germany: a post-mortem case series

It is unclear whether severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) gains access to the CNS. We investigated the brain tissue of patients who died from COVID-19 for glial responses, inflammatory changes, and the presence of SARS- CoV- 2 in the brain. There was no evidence of CNS damage directly caused by the virus. The generalisability of these findings needs to be validated in future studies.

New-onset myocardial injury in pregnant patients with coronavirus disease 2019: a case series of 15 patients

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 causes cardiac injury in nonpregnant women. The study retrospectively reviewed the paper records of 15 pregnant women with coronavirus disease in 2019, who developed a myocardial injury in a single tertiary care hospital in the Dominican Republic. The study showed coronavirus disease 2019 induced myocardial injury and left ventricular dysfunction in pregnant women.
