LeSCoD: a new clinical scale for the detection of Lewy body disease in neurocognitive disorders
LeSCoD for Lewy body Screening scale in Cognitive Disorders. 128 patients with Lewy bodies, Alzheimer's disease, and dementia were prospectively enrolled. The scale showed robust internal and external validity. It correlated with striatal dopamine uptake in 18F-DOPA PET. LeSCoD scale is a simple and reliable tool for the evaluation of Lewy body disease in routine clinical practice, with higher sensitivity and specificity than the existing criteria.
Proteinuria and Clinical Outcomes in Hospitalized COVID-19 Patients
Proteinuria is frequent among patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and may precede AKI. initiation of dialysis, admission to the intensive care unit, and death were associated with proteinuria.
Postmastectomy Radiotherapy: An American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society for Radiation Oncology, and Society of Surgical Oncology Focused Guideline Update
PMRT reduces the risks of locoregional failure (LRF), any recurrence, and breast cancer mortality. Some patients are likely to have such a low risk of LRF that the absolute benefit of PMRT is outweighed by its potential toxicities.
Early‐life childhood obesity risk prediction: A Danish register‐based cohort study exploring the predictive value of infancy weight gain
Postnatal weight gain is important for predicting later overweight and obesity. It is unclear whether the inclusion of this postnatal predictor improves the predictive performance of a comprehensive model based on prenatal and birth‐related predictors. The study adds weight gain information when predicting childhood obesity. Weight gain information improves discrimination and sensitivity of prediction models. Adding this information correctly classified 30% more children without obesity and 21%
Intra-host variation and evolutionary dynamics of SARS-CoV-2 populations in COVID-19 patients
Since early February 2021, the causative agent of COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, has infected over 104 million people with more than 2 million deaths according to official reports. The key to understanding the biology and virus-host interactions of SARS.
Current Evidence of 2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Ocular Transmission: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of 12 studies with 1930 participants. The pooled prevalence rate of conjunctivitis/conjunctival congestion was 8% (95% CI: 5%-12%) The pooled positive rate of. conjunctival swab samples were 3%.
Screening druggable targets and predicting therapeutic drugs for COVID-19 via integrated bioinformatics analysis
Since the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 in China, numerous research institutions have invested in the development of anti-COVID-19 vaccines and screening for efficacious drugs to manage the virus.
Evaluation of clinical utility of novel coronavirus antigen detection reagent, Espline® SARS-CoV-2
To prevent the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2, it is necessary to perform early identification and isolation of people shedding the infectious virus in biological materials with high viral loads. Of 129 swab specimens, 63 were positive in the Espline test and 25 in the RT-PCR test.
